Cotton Travel Clothing: MANTA WEAR is Extraordinary

by Sean Van Ausdall on March 19, 2012

MANTA WEAR IS THE PERFECT TRAVEL CLOTHING TO BRING. WHY DO YOU ASK IS MANTA SUCH A FABULOUS TRAVELING COMPANION?

The Chico Shirt and Drawstring Pants

MANTA is perfect for air travel

Airplane travel: Lets say you are sitting on an airplane for a lenghy trip overseas. You could be sitting in an airplane seat and connecting to other flights for hours on end. This is where you want extreme comfort. Because MANTA WEAR is cotton it is breathable and it feels just right next to the skin. Year ago before I discovered MANTA my traveling attire usually consisted of blue jeans and perhaps a polyester blend shirt. At the time this attire seemed fine. But the problem with this is that there is no comfort factor. The jeans bind and have no flexibility in them and the polyester shirt does not breath. The other advantage of MANTA WEAR is the cabin temperatures on airplanes tend to be rather cold. MANTA is great for layering. If the temperature goes down you can just add another layer.  Never leave home without your MANTA WEAR when traveling by airline.

Manta is great sun protection in the tropics

The MANTA Beach Cover Up

MANTA WEAR is perfect for traveling in the tropics: .Lets say you are planning a vacation to Mexico, Costa Rica or perhaps an island in the Carribean. You are looking around for the perfect attire that is comfortable and attractive. Look no further because MANTA is designed for the tropics. With the heat and humidity polyester only makes it worse. You continue to sweat but there is no escape for your perspiration.

The Freedom Top provides great sun protection

WIth MANTA WEAR this is never a problem. You stay cool and dry because MANTA always breaths. MANTA also provides excellent sun protection while keeping you comfortable on the beach. After swimming, just throw on the MANTA Beach Cover  over your bathing suit!

Many of our customers have traveled the world in their MANTA  and they have attested the wonders of traveling in MANTA! Here are some of our customer’s comments:

♦ I travel and fly a lot in airplanes. Yuck,  how uncomfortable!  I wear these awsome MANTA clothes in flight for COMFORT!! You cannot beat them for this. I also wore the pants on horseback riding. They’re not too hot and very comfortable. I would recommentd them to anyone.         -Joy, Klamath Falls, Oregon

♦ The MANTA shirts are great! They’re durable and wonderful for traveling and I don’t have to iron!   Janice, Terrebonne, Oregon

♦ I took a wonderful Mediterranean cruise last fall in my Manta. I just rolled the Manta up and unrolled it and off I went!  Very comfortable yet a “lady”.           BJ Medford, Oregon

♦ The MANTA is great for travel -  I have worn them to China, Africa, Iceland and many other places. You can wash them in the bathroom sink, pad in a towel and hang up.  They’re ready to wear the next day!                 -Elizabeth Roberts Bothell, WA

♦ I went to Rio de Janiero in my Manta clothing  The styling is perfect, I love the fit and they are very comfortable for traveling. This was the only clothing that I wore on my trip! I also teach Kundalini yoga. The clothing should be loose and comfortable, allowing  the thighs to breathe. Today’s yoga clothes generally look more like bicycling outfits. So I was delighted to find your clothing. Thanks again!       -Sandy Paton, Reading, PA.

LOOKING FOR WHITE COTTON CLOTHING

Happy couple wearing white MANTA clothing at spiritual retreat

MANTA cotton in white is perfect for spiritual and yoga retreats

Lets say you have registered for a yoga retreat or Ashram for further enlightenment. But you have read  in the organization’s literature that they require that you bring with you white clothing. Thinking about your wardrobe, you realize that the only white clothing you own is either underwear or formal business attire–hardly suitable for some of the poses you’ll be doing.   Suddenly you are at a impasse. You are not really sure where to find comfortable white clothing. Do you go down to the local mall and hopefully find something that is attractive, not covered in glitter, and not made of nylon or polyester? Is this going to be an agonizing search that will destroy what inner peace you have remaining?

First of all, you need something that will breathe well and keep you cool–especially if you’re doing “hot” yoga or travelling to India, the birthplace of yoga.  You also want to consider clothing that will travel well, can do double duty as both workout wear and casual clothing (because who wants to pay the airlines’ baggage fees), and will let you concentrate on your meditation instead of the stickiness of the materials. Does this sound like you? Look no further! For all of our hapless seekers of the perfect retreat attire we have the answer.

The Margaita Blouse is an all time favorite

MANTA is the perfect white clothing for any spiritual or yoga retreat .  Apart from the fact that MANTA comes in white, it is very comfortable and attractive cotton clothing ideal for any retreat.

 MANTA FOR TROPICAL RETREATS

MANTA is also perfect if you are planning a tropical destination such as a yoga retreat in Costa Rica. Remember, cotton breaths and feels wonderful on  your skin. Something that polyester or spandex cannot claim.

MANTA COTTON IS GOOD FOR YOUR WELL BEING

MANTA is the perfect attire for meditation

According to Yogi Bhajan master of Kundalini, “Cotton is the flower of the earth. It is good for your psyche, for your energy and for your nervous system.”  On the subject of teaching yoga, he said, “A teacher wears white cotton clothing while teaching. White clothing makes you as a teacher look devine and represent light.”

According to the Spiritual Science Reseach Foundation, “When we wear clothes that are of the Sattvik (spiritual purity) colors it helps us with our spiritual practice.” The Spiritual Science Research Foundation rates white clothing as beyond sattvik  “…the most helpful in attracting spiritual positive vibrations and repel negative vibrations”

Holiday Sale at Inti Imports

by Sean Van Ausdall on December 10, 2011

Holiday decorations at Inti ImportsOkay, yes, this is a shameless plug article–fair warning!  But we thought you’d like to know about our Holiday sale.  We’re offering overstock items for $25, $30, and $35 in our back room, and we have lots of new gift items starting under $5.  “But why should I care if you’re having a fabulous sale?”  you might ask.  Well, we’ll give you a few good reasons.

Do you like the idea of supporting small businesses instead of megastores?  We’re a local business here in Ashland, Oregon that got its start with a young guy, a pickup, and a passion for travelling in South America.  Supporting local retailers like us keeps money circulating in the local economy–around $32 for every $100 spent according to some statistics as compared to $18 out of every $100 spent at big box stores.

Do you like the idea of supporting Fair Trade goods?  While we are not Fair Trade certified, we have a personal relationship with our suppliers in Guatamala, and we make a point of paying fair prices for the manufacture of our MANTA clothing.  We work with a co-op  that ensures fair wages for its workers, and we’re proud to be able to offer sweatshop-free clothing.  We firmly believe that “business” should not be synonymous with “evil.”

Do you like finding unique items from artists both local and international?  We carry a number of beatiful prints from Betty LaDuke, fun statues from Scott Carey, colorful shakers from Shakerman, and Kerala Temple Mural-style cards from Neptune–all artists local to our Rogue Valley.  We also have a limited supply of Peruvian ceramics–just in for the holidays and metal 1,000 year calendars from India all intricately worked by artists from abroad.

And if you still need a reason to come visit us here at Inti Imports, how about the spontaneous outbreaks of singing and/or dancing?  When we put in some of those Putumayo CDs that we carry, it takes a lot of effort to not start tapping our feet!

We’re at 45 North Main Street in Ashland, and we hope to see you soon!
